WELFARE BENEFITS What is the WELFARE BENEFITS ADVICE SERVICE ? We can help you with: A benefits 'health check' to assess if you are entitled to a particular benefit. Advice and information on how to claim Welfare Benefits. What can we do for and with you ?
The service is available to people aged 55+ living in all parts of South Lakeland and to those who care for them.
The Welfare Benefits Service is normally offered in people's own homes, but it is also available at our offices in Kendal. Our advisers will telephone to make an appointment to visit you at home, and will complete the form with you in the comfort of your armchair. What can you expect from the service? Whatever you tell us remains strictly confidential and will be disclosed to no-one without your direct permission. All our volunteers and paid workers meet regularly to standardise the work done and all work is supervised. Is there a charge ? There is no charge for this service. Is transport provided ? We are unable to provide transport for clients to come to visit our office, but we are able to visit clients at home. Who can give me more details ? If you would like to know more about our Welfare Benefits Advice Service, please contact our Resource Advisers, Hilary Wilson or Susan Rimmer on our Information Line 01539 728180 Information Center
