The Promoting Independence Project (PIPP) aims to give practical small-scale assistance to help older people to continue living independently.

What is the service?

Our project co-ordinator will visit you in your own home and help you plan the assistance and advice you need. She will provide you with the information and advice which is relevant to you and, if you want her to, help you to get the services you need. This may include:

• Home security advice and assistance
• Fire prevention advice and support
• Advice on the prevention of accidents
• Advice on benefit entitlements from Age Concern's Welfare Benefits Service
• Information and advice on other important issues including housing problems, aids and adaptations, problems with goods and services, etc.
• Hire of specialist equipment
• Information about social activities and clubs.
• Health advice and support and much more.

This project has been designed to work with many different agencies in the local community, forming partnerships to promote and help older people to maintain their independence.
