ADVOCACY SERVICE

Advocacy is available where a client has (with or without help from Age Concern) identified what he/she would like to do to tackle a problem. We can help you put your case and help to ensure that your wishes are heard, and taken notice of, by the agencies/individuals involved in the issue. This might involve writing or speaking to people with, or on behalf of, you, the client. We are also able to stand by, or represent, you at meetings or in other forms of dispute resolution.

Examples of agencies we can help you tackle might include private firms (consumer issues) or public authorities such as Social Services, Health Care (E.g. Doctors/Hospitals, etc) the Department for Work and Pensions, South Lakeland District Council, or any other agency with whom a client needs advocacy help.

We guarantee absolute confidentiality and will only carry out those tasks you authorise us to do. There is no charge for this service.

Please contact our help line on 01539 728180 for assistance.
